Eco-friendly insect protein treats: nutritious and soft training bites

The insect-based dog treats offer a generous amount per bag and are a great size for both training and rewarding. The texture is particularly good; they are not hard but instead are slightly moist and soft, making them easy for dogs to chew and enjoy. They have a subtle yet distinct and pleasant aroma that is reminiscent of 'chocolate orange,' to me, which makes them much nicer to handle than many traditional meat-based treats. In terms of palatability, while both of my dogs will eat them, they don’t seem quite as excited as they do with some other treats and on occasion are reluctant to take them. This could be due to the subtle orange scent, which can be hit-or-miss with some dogs. Because the ingredients are wholesome and nutritious, I sometimes cut these treats into smaller pieces or crumb them to use as a filler in their regular food. Insect protein is a fantastic, highly digestible superfood that is naturally hypoallergenic and great for dogs with sensitive stomachs or skin issues. It is also much better for the environment than traditional meat, using significantly less land and water. These treats are reasonably priced, and if your dog decides they are a new favourite, you can save money by purchasing the larger six-pack option!

Tasty, dog-safe chocolate-orange smelling treats which he kept coming back for

My dog loves these treats, and for once, they actually smell really nice for humans too (like a chocolatey orange). There is of course no actual chocolate in the treats .The chocolate scent comes from (dog-safe) carob. I also love that these treats are made from insect protein. Don't worry if you're squeamish, each pellet looks no different to other round soft treats - almost like a cereal bar pellets but softer. I don't know if they calmed my dog at all (I have a pretty energetic puppy), but I didn't really expect there's much that can be done to calm them at this stage. I really think this is an excellent treat. My dog loves it, it's soft and easy to chew, pellets are small enough to be able to give lots of rewards, and tasty enough to have him coming back for more.

Perfect treats in every way!

These small treats are a perfect size, smell lovely and are full of natural ingredients. I give my dog a few at night and it settles her and during the day if she needs them. She loves them. The fact they are planet friendly and hand made in the UK is an added bonus! I would definitely recommend these for any size dog.

Easy to feed, no strong smells

I ordered these treats for my two, adult dogs to try, since trying them theg have had no upset stomachs or other unwanted effects. The treats arrived in three packs, each pack is resealable, and clearly labelled with the relevant nutritional information, the packs I received had a best before date that was just under 11 months away. The treats themselves are quite a clean, easy to feed treat, so woukd make good training treats, they have very little smell, and my dogs both seemed to think they taste pleasant, so I am happy to recommend them.

Not sure if they relaxed him, but not more hyper than usual

This is a 3 pouches of dog treats made with insect protein, carob & orange. The pouches are resealable and small enough to fit in a pocket. The treats are small, about the size of a 5p coin, and about 5mm thick. The texture is more soft and chewy rather than a hard biscuit. They do have a slight meaty smell to them. So far we have been using these as a training aid for house training our 12 week old sprocker. He likes them and they are good for getting his attention when held in a closed hand. He does seem to get quite full from these (I'm guessing from the insect protein) and we noticed didn't go chasing his food bowl as much or begging. We also noticed he wasn't getting hyper after eating a few. It's definitely easier than traditional biscuits as those make him quite energetic after a few. In terms of digestion, I noticed no issues. Just darker poop. Good quality and ok value. Recommended. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it useful We have

Small Sized Treats That Do Seem To Have A Slight Calming Influence

It took maybe two of these before my dog (a Boston Terrier), warmed up to them. She was initially very excited by the rustle of the new bag, knowing treats lay within. The bag was a bit difficult to open as the "easy-tear" strip didn't tear far enough and so I still couldn't open the bag. In the end I had to get some scissors to cut very close to the resealable section to finally get the bag open. The treats inside are small, circular shapes with a slight grainy texture. Now that she is more comfortable eating them, (the first was pushed around the floor and then subsequently left for a good few hours), I do find they make her slightly calmer after she's had one. This then brings me onto the slightly mixed messages, as if I was doing some training, I want her to be alert, so giving her these would seem counter intuitive in my opinion. Therefore these are going to be given as a calming reward at the end of a session or after a good walk instead.

Some Grub Calming Dog Treats - Pack of 3.

Some Grub Calming Dog Treats - Pack of 3. My comments are for the: Some Grub Calming Dog Treats; How does the product arrive: Resealable Plastic Pouches; Quantity: 3; Does it come with instructions: No; Does the product work as advertised/expected: Yes; Price at time of review: £10.99, or slightly cheaper if you subscribe and save; Is there a Subscribe & Save option: No; Is the product good value for money: Only if your dog likes them; Would I recommend this product: No; Additional Comments: We have two 2yr old Frenchies, one of which is quite anxious, so we’ve been trying them with calming treats. These three packs of doggy treats are in resealable pouches, with the expiry date printed on the back of the packs, these ones expire in September’26. The ‘easy-tear’ is certainly Not easy at all. You end up having to use scissors to practically cut right at the re-seal line to eventually get them open. It’s very annoying. There are no instructions on how many to give, I’ve looked all over the bag and even popped back to the advert to see if it says anything there, but nothing. The treats are only small, so I tried our two (12 & 13kg) with two each. They have Never turned their noses up at ANY treat, but they didn’t take to these at all. They love it when I open a new bag of treats, usually gobbling whatever's inside immediately, but they sniffed these a few times and walked away. The treats do have a lovely orange scent to them, and our two love a tangerine, so I thought they’d like them. Oh well. As always, I have added a few photos to this review which provide more information that I hope you find helpful. *As a member of the Vine Programme, I have been sent this product free of charge, in exchange for my honest review. I only order items that my household will use, with my rating system as follows: 5 Stars – a product that goes above my expectations, with nothing negative to report, and one that I would buy again; 4 stars – a very good product that met my expectations; 3 stars – a product that is fit for purpose, but could be better in some respects; 2 stars - a product that disappointed in a number of ways; 1 star - a product that does not deserve any stars, could actually be faulty or dangerous.

Mixed pack

My dogs love them!

A great multipack containing x2 lots of the Superfood, Nut Butter, and Calming treats. Great value considering the amount you get, and also the high quality natural, yet sustainable ingredients. All the varieties seem to be a hit with both my dogs - but especially the superfood variety - and they can be quite fussy! None of the flavours have an unpleasant odour like some dog treats, so they are ideal for putting in a treat bag with no mess. The pouch they come in is also resealable so that's a big plus point too. I’d say the actual treats are small bite size, but good for most dogs both small and large, if needing little pieces for training for example. Overall, I really love the concept - A welcome change in a sea of dog treat brands. Would highly recommend, and really hope to repurchase more from some grub!

Good quality

These are something different, being insect rather than meat-based. In theory good for dogs with allergies and are billed as having calming properties. The treats are not too small, rounded with a rough textured finish. There is an obvious carob smell, with orange. The reception was mixed, one pug just ate them straight away, the other was not overly impressed at first. I didn’t notice any obvious calming effect. The pouches are 100g but are stated as containing 100 treats so the £10.99 for three pouches is reasonable value. The pouches were quite difficult to open without scissors is one thing I’d point out. They seem to be good quality, grain free and high in protein and Omega. They look like a healthy treat option although I’d have liked more information on the ingredients such as what insects are actually used and recommended dosage per day, dependant on dog size. Reasonable value if you want a healthy treat option although obviously the dog will have the final say on if they like them or not.
